The King’s Rejects
Rabbi Yehudah ben Shomeyr
And
every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one
that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him – I Sam. 22:2
Seeing
the people, He felt compassion for them, because they were distressed and dispirited
like sheep without a shepherd. – Matt. 9:36
So too, at the
present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. – Rom. 11:5
From the
Time of David, to his successor, our Rebbe and King, Messiah Yeshua, till the
time of Rav Sha’ul (Paul) till now, the Kingdom, GOD’s elite warrior has been
made up of a remnant of those who have been dejected, rejected, ridiculed, harassed,
condemned, ignored, persecuted and turned away by the religious elite; the
Kings, Priests, Sadducees, Pharisees, Scribes and Sages. Because we have
thought for ourselves and questioned tradition and questioned those in authority
to keep them accountable, we have been seen and labelled as dissidents, rebellious,
an annoyance and troublemakers.
We are the
seekers of purity and truth and will not settle for anything less. We are the tenacious
fighters that if we must go it alone we will.
David’s
Mighty Men were a hodgepodge of roughnecks from all over Israel and Canaan.
Yeshua’s Disciples were a motley crew of fishermen, revolutionaries and tax
collectors. Rav Sha’ul’s congregations were made up of Jew, Gentiles, and half
breeds ousted by Judaism and Paganism.
Has not GOD
always chosen the runts of the litter, the unassuming second born over the
aloof first? Has not GOD always turned man’s expectations on its head? Has He
not used the foolish things of the world to confound the wise, the weak to
shame the strong (I Cor. 1:27)?
We may be
rejects, we may be but a tiny remnant, but we are the best darn qualified and
most diverse special spiritual army ever assembled! It is our diversity and our
dissatisfaction in the stagnant status quo that makes us great! That makes us
not stop until we see the perfection of His Kingdom come. We are the A-Team of
Natsari Judaism.
Keep K’vetching,
Keep Fighting!
Shabbat
Shalom!
