DAY 17 OF THE OMER

“Today is seventeen days, which are two weeks and three days of the Omer.”

Isa. 52:7 How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!

Romans 10:15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

Unless you have a foot fetish the feet have been voted as the most unattractive feature of the human body. You know some one is absolutely beautiful if it is equally as pleasant looking at their feet as it is their face. I guess a messenger could look like Quasimodo and he’d end up looking like a beauty queen if he brought good news that everyone desperately wanted to hear.

The Traditional text to read is Psalm 119:129-136:

129     ¶ PE. Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them.

Q. Why does David keep the Torah? A. See verse 129.

130     ¶ The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.

The Torah is so simple anyone can understand and apply it.

131     ¶ I opened my mouth, and panted: for I longed for thy commandments.

He thirsts for Torah as one dying of thirst for water in the desert. When he reads it, meditates on it, he drinks it up like a tall glass of clear, cold water and it refreshes his soul, sustains and give shim life!

132     ¶ Look thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as thou usest to do unto those that love thy name.

He wants God to relate to him as He did all the Great Patriarchs that were before him.

133     ¶ Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.

He is saying making walk in Your Torah, not in iniquity, which is Hebrew for Torah-less-ness or Lawlessness.

134     ¶ Deliver me from the oppression of man: so will I keep thy precepts.

He is saying, “God, you promised if we keep Your Law, Your guidelines for daily living that You would be our Deliverer and will protect us.

135     ¶ Make thy face to shine upon thy servant; and teach me thy statutes.

Again He asks God to show him favor and to teach him all that his finite mind can attain from the Torah.

136     ¶ Rivers of waters run down mine eyes, because they keep not thy law.

What an example for all of us, we too should be heartbroken and weep for the ones who do not keep the Torah, oh what favor and blessings they are missing out of all because of ignorance and because of man-made and demonically influenced religious doctrine and false history.

“Beautiful LORD, Abba, Inside me I have the greatest news the world has ever known, with my feet shod with the Besorah (gospel) of Shalom (peace) (Eph. 6:15) may the news I carry to the world of You, Your Torah and Your Messiah reflect from head to toe Your absolute Beauty. I pray these things in the Beautiful Name of Messiah Yeshua, Ameyn.”

DAY 16 OF THE OMER

“Today is sixteen days, which are two weeks and two days of the Omer.”

·       Psalm 119:121-128

Esther 2:7, 15-17 And he brought up Hadassah, that is, Esther, his uncle's daughter: for she had neither father nor mother, and the maid was fair and beautiful; whom Mordecai, when her father and mother were dead, took for his own daughter… Now when the turn of Esther, the daughter of Abihail the uncle of Mordecai, who had taken her for his daughter, was come to go in unto the king, she required nothing but what Hegai the king's chamberlain, the keeper of the women, appointed. And Esther obtained favour in the sight of all them that looked upon her. So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign. And the king loved Esther above all the women, and she obtained grace and favour in his sight more than all the virgins; so that he set the royal crown upon her head, and made her queen instead of Vashti.

Esther 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father's house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this?

Some guys get real stupid in the presence of a strong beautiful woman.

“Jump off a cliff!” she could say.

“Yes ma’am! Right away miss!” and like lemmings, they’d plunge to their deaths into the sea all because of a pretty face. I guess that goes to show you that not all beauties lack brains or brawn. Just take for instance Esther (Hadassah), and in the apocryphal book Judith (Yehudit), both of which were beautiful women and used their natural beauty to save Israel! Beauty becomes their weapon.

Are you slaying cynicism and skepticism with the strong beauty of your Torah obedient lifestyle, modeled after Yeshua the Messiah?

The Traditional text to read is Psalm 119:121-128:

121     ¶ AIN. I have done judgment and justice: leave me not to mine oppressors.
122     Be surety for thy servant for good: let not the proud oppress me.

David wants God to fight for him because he has ruled and reigned to the best of his ability through the precepts of Torah.

123     ¶ Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.

Salvation (Yeshua) can only clearly be seen through the Torah.

124     ¶ Deal with thy servant according unto thy mercy, and teach me thy statutes.
125     I am thy servant; give me understanding, that I may know thy testimonies.

Again he so desires to have insight, knowledge, understanding and wisdom in regards to what the Torah is all about.

126     ¶ It is time for thee, LORD, to work: for they have made void thy law.
127     ¶ Therefore I love thy commandments above gold; yea, above fine gold.
128     Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.

David wants to fight for and establish God’s Torah among the common people because he knows for the most part they do not know it or keep it. David is a Superman of sorts wanting to fight for “Truth Justice, and the Torah way.”

“Beautiful and All-powerful King of the Universe, Give me a strong beauty Esther and Judith had that I may win the favor of our enemies and thus defeat them with a smile. In Yeshua’s Name I pray, Ameyn.”

DAY 15 OF THE OMER

“Today is fifteen days which are two weeks and one day of the Omer.”

·       Theme of the Day: Chesed – Loving-kindness

·       Overall Theme: The Loving-kindness of His Beauty.

·       Psalm 119:113-120

There is a beauty in all shades all around. You have the simple beauty of a daisy, the raw powerful beauty of a lion, the majestic beauty of a soaring eagle, and the posh cold beauty of a runway super model; but Loving Beauty?

Matthew 19:13-14 Then were there brought unto him little children, that he should put his hands on them, and pray: and the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.

Have you ever witnessed a father holding hands with his little daughter or playing with her out in the yard? What shows more love and more beauty than that!?

Here we see the Messiah Himself, an all important Rebbe that crowds flock to see, that sick people want to touch and powerful me want to kill; forsaking all the attention of all others just so He can tussle the head of a little boy, give a wink to a shy child, hug and hold a little girl in His arms and bless them all with the traditional Hebrew blessing given to boys and girls respectively on Shabbat. This truly displays the Loving-kindness of His Beauty.

The Traditional text to read is Psalm 119:113-120:

113     ¶ SAMECH. I hate vain thoughts: but thy law do I love.

Maybe this is where his son Solomon in Ecclesiastes gets his inspiration. Because David and Solomon both say that anything that is not connected to the Torah in some way is vain, useless, a waste of time.

114     ¶ Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.

The Torah is a solid rock to hide behind, within, and stand on in days of trouble.

115     ¶ Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.

David proclaims temptations are useless for the Torah is all He desires and is tempted by. Kind of like James when he says resist the Devil and he will flee (James 4:7).

116     ¶ Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: and let me not be ashamed of my hope.

117     Hold thou me up, and I shall be safe: and I will have respect unto thy statutes continually.

David knows it’s his acceptance and adherence to God’s Laws that will protect him. Just like the laws of physics, tie a rock to a string and throw it and it will only come back to hit you. The laws of gravity: jump off a building and you fall and kill yourself.

118     ¶ Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood.
119     Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies.

David knows the Torah refines ones soul like pure gold and those who are wicked get scooped off like impurities from precious metals. Even if one does not keep the Chukim.

120     My flesh trembleth for fear of thee; and I am afraid of thy judgments.

Just like a child fearful of a fathers spanking, there is fear and respect and this is what keeps him on the straight path.

“Precious Abba God, Oh, make the Beauty You have placed in me exude Loving-kindness that makes shallower forms of Beauty pail in comparison, so that I may bring others to You, Your Torah and Your Messiah. In Yeshua’s Name I pray. Ameyn.”

DAY 14 OF THE OMER

“Today is fourteen days which are two weeks of the Omer.”

·       Overall Theme: The Majesty of His Severity and Strength.

·       Psalm 119:105-112

Rev. 19:11-21 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS. And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; That ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

What could be more glorious than a King fearlessly leading His subjects into battle? You have heard the saying, “Going down in a blaze of glory.” Well, it’s a Blaze of Glory alright, but there’s no going down for this King, unless you mean going down from the heavens to earth to do battle, conquer and vanquish all His foes.

The Traditional text to read is Psalm 119:105-112

105     ¶ NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

The Torah should guide our every footstep and it gives us enough light to see as far as God wants us to go, one day, one step at a time.

106     ¶ I have sworn, and I will perform it, that I will keep thy righteous judgments.

David has sworn to keep the Torah no matter what!

107     ¶ I am afflicted very much: quicken me, O LORD, according unto thy word.

Again David knows that only the Torah contains the Words of Live. Did not the Talmideem (Disciples) of Yeshua say this very thing about Him, who is the Living Torah (John 6:68)?

108     ¶ Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O LORD, and teach me thy judgments.

David doesn’t keep the Torah because he feels he HAS to, he does it because he WANTS to and therefore wants Divine instruction and insight on how to keep it better.

109     ¶ My soul is continually in my hand: yet do I not forget thy law.

David is 100% dependant and devoted to ADONAI and His Torah.

110     The wicked have laid a snare for me: yet I erred not from thy precepts.

He admits here that the Torah is what forewarned him and kept him safe from the pitfalls of the wicked and their schemes.

111     ¶ Thy testimonies have I taken as an heritage for ever: for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

The Torah is so precious to Him that it is the key thing he will pass on to his descendants, and he has claimed the promises in there for himself and his family.

112     I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes alway, even unto the end.

He is dead set resolved to keep the Torah no matter what, and this theme has already been repeated over and over in this Psalm.

“Almighty and Majestic King of the Universe, mold me into the majestic warrior You are, so that I may have victory in my daily life. In the Name of Messiah Yeshua I pray, Ameyn.”

DAY 13 OF THE OMER

“Today is thirteen days which are one week and six days of the Omer.”

·       Theme of the day:  Yesod - Intimacy

·       Overall Theme: “The Intimacy of His Severity and Strength.”

·       Psalm 119:97-104

Gen. 17:15, 19 And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.

Gen. 18:10-14 And he said, I will certainly return unto thee according to the time of life; and, lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. And Sarah heard it in the tent door, which was behind him. Now Abraham and Sarah were old and well stricken in age; and it ceased to be with Sarah after the manner of women. Therefore Sarah laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also? And the LORD said unto Abraham, Wherefore did Sarah laugh, saying, Shall I of a surety bear a child, which am old? Is any thing too hard for the LORD? At the time appointed I will return unto thee, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.

Gen. 21:1-7 And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac. And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac being eight days old, as God had commanded him. And Abraham was an hundred years old, when his son Isaac was born unto him. And Sarah said, God hath made me to laugh, so that all that hear will laugh with me. And she said, Who would have said unto Abraham, that Sarah should have given children suck? for I have born him a son in his old age.

Who can unscramble and egg? Who can un-curdle milk? Who can straighten perfectly that which was bent? Who can make alive that which was dead? No one but ADONAI! How much more clearly can we read about the intimacy of ADONAI’s strength except in the story where He makes the infertile, fertile; where He makes the dead and withered alive again!?
Names mean something, there is power and prophecy in ones name. God added the Hebrew letter “hey” to Abram and Sari’s name; the letter of breath and life and so they became Abraham and Sarah. What was dead was made alive, what was old became new again and what was infertile became fertile.

The Traditional text to read is Psalm 119:97-104:

97     ¶ MEM. O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.

Self explanatory!

98     ¶ Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.

The Torah IS Wisdom and gives one an edge against ones enemies, for it is the powerful, Living Words of God Himself!

99     I have more understanding than all my teachers: for thy testimonies are my meditation.
100     I understand more than the ancients, because I keep thy precepts.

Actually the Hebrew eludes to that David understands more than his teachers and the ancients because of them, but this is also a fair translation, for it hints that God gives new insight into the Scriptures to each generation. And it comes by study and meditation; it just doesn’t drop in ones lap.

101     ¶ I have refrained my feet from every evil way, that I might keep thy word.
102     ¶ I have not departed from thy judgments: for thou hast taught me.
103     ¶ How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!
104     Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.

Need I say more?

“Precious All Powerful ADONAI, who has effortless command over life and death. Make alive whatever good thing I have made dead in my life so I can perpetuate that goodness and life for Your Honor and Glory. In Yeshua’s Name I pray, Ameyn.”

DAY TWELVE OF THE OMER

“Today is twelve days which are one week and five days of the Omer.”

·       Theme of the day:  Hod - Glory

·       Overall Theme: “The Glory of His Severity and Strength.”

·       Psalm 119:89-96

I mentioned earlier how light is an allusion to glory and this past week we have been focusing on the severity and strength of ADONAI and how even in this attribute of Yah, His Beauty, Victory and Love can be seen through it. Well, today we will read about His future Glory.

Rev. 21:23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

Have you ever met someone whose presence lit up a room? Well, God’s Presence will light up all eternity!

The traditional text to read is Psalm 119:89-96:

89     ¶ LAMED. For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

The Torah IS ETERNAL, it WILL NOT be done away with or replaced by another.

90     Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth, and it abideth.
91     They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.

The Torah is relevant and timeless.

92     ¶ Unless thy law had been my delights, I should then have perished in mine affliction.

The Written Torah is David’s Yeshau (Salvation) for HE knows the Living Torah, the Messiah will come from the Written Torah.

93     ¶ I will never forget thy precepts: for with them thou hast quickened me.

Again the Torah gives life when one keeps it, not death, death comes through disobedience to it.

94     ¶ I am thine, save me; for I have sought thy precepts.

David knows there is Righteousness that comes by Faith, but He also knows that your righteous works through the Torah backs up the faith of your heart.

95     ¶ The wicked have waited for me to destroy me: but I will consider thy testimonies.

When David gets fearful and discouraged He will remember through the Words of the Torah what God miraculously done for Israel.

96     ¶ I have seen an end of all perfection: but thy commandment is exceeding broad.

David is saying that he sees the end of every perfection, every purpose in this finite world, but that the Torah is eternal, it has no end.

“Abba ADONAI God, I am dumbfounded and awestruck at Your Omnipotence, Your unfathomable power, how You have no beginning and no end. All I can do is praise You as I bask in the Strength of Your Glory. In Yeshua’s Name Ameyn.”

DAY ELEVEN OF THE OMER

“Today is eleven days which are one week and four days of the Omer.”

·       Theme of the week: Gevurah – Severity and Strength

·       Theme of the day:  Netzach - Victory

·       Overall Theme: “The Victory of His Severity and Strength.”

·       Psalm 119:81-88

The same future acts we read about over the past few days testifies to the aspect of Victory as a result of His Severity and Strength.

Rev. 20:1,14 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever. And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rev. 21:1-4 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

We will finally have victory forever more over satan, sin, death and hell! HalleuYah!

The Traditional text to read is Psalm 119:81-88:

81     ¶ CAPH. My soul fainteth for thy salvation: but I hope in thy word.

David knows that the prophecies of Moshiach, Salvation (Yeshua) are encoded in the Torah, and he longs for that day when Moschiach will be revealed.

82     Mine eyes fail for thy word, saying, When wilt thou comfort me?

Sometimes doubts naturally arise when one waits so long for God’s promises. Yet we see in the next verse that it is the Torah that continually encourages him.

83     ¶ For I am become like a bottle in the smoke; yet do I not forget thy statutes.

Even though one is in the world and not of it, just by being in it one is tainted by contact with it; but regardless David remembers and keeps the Torah.

84     ¶ How many are the days of thy servant? when wilt thou execute judgment on them that persecute me?
85     ¶ The proud have digged pits for me, which are not after thy law.
86     All thy commandments are faithful: they persecute me wrongfully; help thou me.
87     They had almost consumed me upon earth; but I forsook not thy precepts.

The age old question of why the wicked prosper can be answered in the extension of God’s mercy to the wicked who are blind of God’s ways in an attempt to extent the opportunity for them to repent. This is why too that we are permitted to suffer at times at the hand of the wicked because really God doesn’t want to see anyone perish. Yet we know that even God has an expiration date in regards to his mercy and that if the wicked do not repent they will be repaid in kind by God on the righteous peoples account. All we have to do is be faithful in regards to Torah and endure to the end and we WILL be saved.

88     ¶ Quicken me after thy lovingkindness; so shall I keep the testimony of thy mouth.

David says, “God make me alive through the life giving words of your Torah! Give me strength to keep you Torah and thus please You.”

“Thank You Gracious Father for the Victory we have as a result of Your Love and Strength! In Messiah Yeshua’s Name I pray. Ameyn!”
